I see local Yes branches (if that’s the right word) tweeting in support of parties on matters irrelevant to independence and it’s worrying. I feel like we’re all (myself included) guilty of losing focus. All eyes need to be firmly on the ball.
Each time I consider being active on this account it seems to me that Yes twitter is too focused on party politics rather than an independence case.
Of course it’s right to support your chosen party, but maybe conflating the two is dangerous.
That’s why I’ve stayed away.
I think it’s time to make the case for independence that doesn’t just consider the next 5 years. Think long term. Think big. We have the resources to be a true renewables world leader for decades to come and beyond, let’s make it happen.
If you’re a ‘nationalist’ you shouldn’t rely on an oil economy.
Oil consumption causes destruction of nature. Destroying Scotland’s climate and *stunning* scenery through oil consumption isn’t fitting with ‘loving’ your country.
Love scotland? Drop the oil.
