@SimonLaffont@the_bonnfire One thing I don’t think foreigners comprehend (and I mean that nicely) is the sheer size of the country. In the time it takes to fly from the East to West coast, a European could fly from London to Cairo.
@SimonLaffont@the_bonnfire I don’t know, but I feel like lately I’ve seen more accounts of Europeans going beyond the big tourist cities and into “real” America. To be sure, some of that is unsavory but many parts are absolutely beautiful.
@SeattleIndepen1 Small dogs and cats are great companions for older people - until the people no longer are able to care for them in the right way. Meaning cleaning up after them, feeding them the right food, having the strength to control them. It’s one of the sad realities of old age.
@QueenAnticommie It’s because they’re never taught the evils that resulted from installing communism - the mass deaths, starvation, the breakdown of trust between friends, family members reporting each other, run-down housing, scarcity of common goods, etc. They’re only taught about “sharing.”
@annbauerwriter@MeghanMcCain IF it’s real, they CHOSE to publicize it - then they feign indignation at those who criticized their decision. Obviously they expected just praise and sympathy.
I’m SO over “influencers,”, but at least we’ve learned just how cold, shameless and depraved some people are for $$$.
@lorifrank1 I think I was about 13 - my sister and I biked to the local pool/tennis club, where we played tennis in blistering heat and humidity without sunscreen, then ended the day in the pool, where I practiced back flips off the high board. I had never taken a diving lesson. Fun times.
@MetamateDaz Yes, sorry, that’s the way it is. Has been since mankind first appeared on earth, and in fact wild animals do this https://t.co/q61vda9ohY.
@CRB704@samipyrros@JoelWBerry Which is why I said “that’s a different conversation.” Of course I know not everyone lives well, and of course I am also affected by the rampant inflation.
But there are a lot of people who just seem to be clueless about food and cooking.
@CRB704@samipyrros@JoelWBerry Do you not have a refrigerator to store the rest of that package of eggs or cheese for another meal? I’m guessing you do. If you don’t, that’s a different conversation. And you don’t have to shop at Aldi.
@samipyrros@JoelWBerry Have people completely lost creativity and imagination? Who said you “must” eat a sandwich for lunch? Is there a law? Make a big dinner and have leftovers. Buy a rotisserie chicken and use for salad, soup, sandwiches.
LUNCH DOESNT HAVE TO BE A SANDWICH.
@iamchrisdurkin@JoelWBerry There’s a saying somewhere about eating like a king at breakfast, like a prince at lunch and like a pauper at dinner. Probably better for the waistline too.
