The assertion that there is a lack of information is incorrect, considering the existence of numerous loan applications mobile apps in Uganda that rely on individuals' credit scores to assess loan eligibility. Ugandan banks typically conduct thorough evaluations before approving loans for their citizens, without relying solely on the body size of the individual. This article made by @nytimes contains misinformation. @CommunityNotes
There's nothing wrong with the study however eating fewer calorie foods is because capitalism and greed are not so widespread on the continent. Most people still consume an ancient diet ( natural foods) which have less calories and are healthier for you. Also most Africans do manual jobs which means they're always on their go or so are able to burn off calories and stay in shape.
In the United States, former President @realdonaldtrump is on trial for reportedly possessing classified documents at his Florida home after leaving office in January 2021. However, other individuals, including President @JoeBiden and those without the authority to declassify documents, are not facing trial.
The explanation provided is that Trump is being tried because he did not return the classified documents on time, whereas others promptly returned them when asked, despite having similar documents in private non-secure locations.
The argument is that Trump's behavior was improper while others acted responsibly. They claim that the case against Trump is not based on his intention to run for President again, but rather on the principles of justice, uncovering the truth, and protecting American secrets.
The concern, they claim, is that if Trump were to leak or sell American secrets to countries like Russia, China, Iran, or North Korea, national security would be compromised.
Therefore, the trial of Trump is portrayed as non-political and not a deliberate attempt to undermine him, especially considering his leading position in the polls and potential GOP nomination victory next year.
As a younger journalist, I might have accepted this narrative, citing the charges, alarming details, and the opinions of "experts" and critics. I mean, how can this man not be guilty if the charges against him are so alarmingly presented and the main stream media has already convicted him?
However, as a more skeptical journalist who has experienced countries where political opponents were often arrested, tried, and convicted on fabricated charges, I have come to realize that ultimately it's all about power. There are no innocent babies here in Washington. It's all about who controls power in the most powerful country in the world. Nothing else.
Those who pursue power often resort to cheating, influencing people, demonizing their adversaries, silencing the media, and eventually arresting or eliminating opponents when it becomes apparent they may not be defeated in an election. Many conservatives see it as it is.
May God help us.
The Territorial Police in Rwenzori West and Fortportal East division, is actively searching for a patron to a P.3 pupil aged, 9, at Kasisi Day and boarding primary school. The facts gathered indicate that a concerned pupil at the school, narrated his ordeal to his mother, after he told her that the Patron was making sexual advances to him and also molesting two other children respectively. The mother informed the headteacher who reported the matter to police.
All the three victims were identified by a medical officer and one of the three victims, was found positive. The victim and two others are already traumatised and are undergoing pyscho-social support. It was further established that the patron, Ssali Joash, a 37 year old, resident of Gezi village, Misindika warrd, Kyenjojo Town Council, Kyenjojo District, sexually molested the victim while in the dormitory. We want to thank the Headteacher, for immediately reporting the matter to police. Efforts are now in place, to trace for the suspect and bring him to book, after he escaped from the school and is at large.
In a separate development, the police at Kiira Region and Jinja City are investigating circumstances under which a 15 year old male juvenile, at Jinja College was attacked by a group of students, who tied his mouth with a cloth, and his body to a bed. The naughty students undressed the victim and pushed a stick into his anus on the 14.06.2023.
The victim fell unconscious but was recovered late and rushed to Nile International Hospital, where the stick was removed. The victim had reported 4 students, involved in acts of sodomy, which led to their suspension. Inquiries into the matter continue.
We do strongly condemn all forms of sexual violence and torture in schools. Efforts are in place to ensure, the perpetrators are identified and held accountable for their crimes. We further urge all school proprietors and administrators to provide safe learning environments, to ensure the safety and security of students and the school infrastructure.

The Executive Director
Kampala City Council Authority,
COMBATING STREET LITTERING IN KAMPALA CITY
This proposal is aimed at addressing the pressing issue of street littering in Kampala City. Littering not only degrades the aesthetic appeal of our city but also poses significant environmental, public health risks, and flooding of the city due to blocked drainage system like it always happens with even slight rains. It is imperative that we take decisive action to discourage this behavior and foster a sense of responsibility among our citizens.
1. Public Awareness Campaign:
Launch an extensive public awareness campaign to educate citizens about the adverse impacts of street littering. Utilize various communication channels, including billboards, radio, television, social media platforms, and public service announcements, to disseminate information. The campaign should emphasize the importance of individual responsibility, environmental preservation, and the benefits of maintaining a clean city.
2. Education and Outreach Programs:
Introduce educational initiatives in schools and community centers to raise awareness about the consequences of littering. Develop curriculum materials, conduct workshops, and organize interactive sessions that educate students and community members about proper waste disposal, recycling, and the significance of a clean environment. Encourage active participation and engagement through environmental clubs and community-driven projects.
3. Placement of Adequate Waste Bins:
Ensure an adequate number of waste bins are strategically placed throughout the city, particularly in high-traffic areas, markets, and public spaces. The bins should be easily accessible, clearly labeled, and regularly maintained. Consider implementing separate bins for different types of waste, including recyclables, to promote recycling practices and make waste disposal more convenient.
4. Enforcement and Penalties:
Strengthen enforcement measures to deter littering activities. Increase the presence of law enforcement officers in key locations and implement regular patrols to monitor and discourage littering behavior. Enforce strict penalties and fines for offenders, and establish a transparent system for reporting and tracking littering incidents. Alternatively, we can have public enforcement, whereby a member of public can report one who has littered and the culprit is charged 100,000 and 50,000 is given to the one who has report. These measures will send a strong message that littering is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
5. Community Engagement and Clean-up Campaigns: Promote community engagement through cleanliness drives and volunteer programs. Encourage residents, community organizations, and local businesses to actively participate in regular clean-up campaigns. Organize events where volunteers come together to collect litter, clean streets, and public spaces. Recognize and reward exemplary contributions to motivate further participation and instill a sense of pride in a clean city.
6. Waste Management Infrastructure Improvement: Invest in waste management infrastructure to improve waste collection and disposal systems. Collaborate with waste management companies to ensure regular garbage collection and timely disposal. Enhance recycling facilities, establish recycling centers, and explore partnerships with recycling organizations to facilitate efficient waste management and encourage recycling practices.
7. Street Signage and Visual Reminders:
Install clear and visually appealing signage throughout the city, reminding citizens of the consequences of littering and urging them to dispose of waste responsibly. Place eye-catching graphics and messages near waste bins and in prominent areas prone to littering. Engage local artists to create murals or artwork that promote cleanliness and discourage littering.
8. Continuous Monitoring and Evaluation:
Establish a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation system to assess the effectiveness of implemented initiatives. Conduct regular surveys, gather data on littering trends, and seek feedback from citizens to track progress and identify areas for improvement. Use this data to refine strategies and adapt to changing needs over time.
By implementing these measures, we can work together to transform Kampala City into a cleaner, more sustainable, and environmentally conscious place to live. I am confident that with collective efforts, we can significantly reduce street littering and create a city that we can all be proud of.
Thank you for your consideration. I am eager to discuss this proposal further and collaborate with you to implement these initiatives. @kasyate@KCCAUG

Ugandans and Bazzukulu in particular.
It has been almost 2 days since I gave you an update on my war with corona. Except for the first two days (Tuesday and Wednesday), when there was a mild flu-like fever, but weaker than the usual flu, I only had some drowsiness on Thursday and mild headache at night. This was up to Friday.
There was also roughness on the throat (bugyiimbi like feeling- leaves with rough surface).
By Friday, all those symptoms had gone. Sunday, Monday and today, I have been busy doing paper work. I would have gone out of self – confinement but when we checked on Sunday, I was still positive, but the other parameters were good.
My social-media team brought me the messages that are overwhelmingly supportive. Thanks so much fellow Ugandans. I thank those who took the trouble to sign the boards at the Gate of Nakasero.
I also noticed some few individuals from, I think, Kenya, saying that I was in ICU etc. If I was in ICU, the government would inform the country. What is there to hide? However, I have not been to bed as a sick man in the house here except for sleeping, let alone being in a hospital bed, whether ICU or otherwise. Continue praying, we shall overcome.
Now that our People have woken up on the issue of wealth creation with dairy, coffee, fruits, palm oil, cocoa, etc., we should emphasize the issue of solar- powered irrigation to stabilize agriculture.
We do not want crops dying because of lack of rain in ekyeya (ekyaanda- the dry season). Even without mechanized irrigation, I am able to water my crops at Kawumu and Baralegi. Of course, I use paid labour.
When I challenged my daughter, Hon. Abeja, Woman MP Otuke, why my neighbours do not copy my example by using family labour, she had a good answer. The water sources are too far for the family labour to manage. We are studying all that.
