Our mission is to increase domestic production and generate local employment opportunities. Each import raises a fundamental question: why not manufacture it in Ghana.
In 2023, the Auditor-General found 17 completed projects worth GH¢6.65 million that were not being used.
Not projects we couldn’t find money to finish.
They were finished. We paid for them.
Yet the people they were supposed to serve were still not benefiting from them.
Just think about that.
In a country where some communities are still asking for basic things, we managed to spend GH¢6.65 million, finish 17 projects and still leave them sitting there.
The money is already gone from Ghana’s pocket. The people are still waiting.
Then another budget comes and we go looking for more money to solve problems we’ve already spent money trying to solve.
This is one reason development can feel so slow. Before we rush to announce the next project, can the Ghanaian please benefit from the ones we’ve already paid for? What is wrong with us?
Let me explain Ghana’s problem like we’re at a chop bar.
You enter, eat, order drinks for everybody and tell the woman, “My brother coming after me will pay.”
Your brother comes, sees your bill and gets angry.
“Ei! Look at the bill this guy left!”
He pays some, eats too, then leaves his own bill.
4 years later, you come back shouting about his bill. 😂
Ghana has been doing versions of this for years.
In 2014, under NDC, government owed billions of cedis it had not paid. They bought things, hired people to do work and did not finish paying the bills.
NPP came into power.
By the time NPP left in 2025, the new NDC government said it found GH¢68.8 BILLION worth of bills and demands for payment waiting to be checked.
After checking, GH¢47.8 BILLION was confirmed as money government really owed.
Now look at us.
NDC says, “Look at what NPP left!”
NPP says, “You people left bills too!”
Both can point backwards.
Meanwhile, who keeps paying?
YOU. 😂
Bro when government owes money, NPP headquarters doesn’t pay. NDC headquarters doesn’t pay.
Ghana pays and Ghana’s money is OUR money.
That is the trap.
Governments change.
Presidents change.
Party colours change.
The bill keeps finding us.
After 69 years, I don’t care who can explain the mess better.
STOP LEAVING US THE BILL because NPP → NDC → NPP → NDC without fixing this is just changing who is eating.
The chop bar bill is still ours. Ghana Must Work🇬🇭
