Recently got a postcard from @Sky1sland and was thrilled that a lit mag sent me mail! Not only did they respond kindly to my story—I’ll get to read it in Issue 22 tomorrow. Head to their website. https://t.co/Zh1kAOdHaY
Thrilled to have my Flash Fiction --"We Were Wildlife" in Issue 22
@Sky1sland. (Scroll down, my piece is towards the bottom). I love how they use a clean white protected word document. Thanks to @drawing4dollars @allisonrwrites for reading.

@robhollywood@havehadhavehad @Aaron__Burch Lovely! Where’d you do this retreat? I love the idea of these things, but I think staying home and writing without my kids might be silence enough.
Wow!!! —We imagine tidepools forming in parking lots of abandoned hotels, wana finding purchase in the cracked asphalt, their black spines undulating in their new homes, sea cucumbers nestled along the yellow lines of the parking stalls, their colors camouflaged—

Love this! That end is so powerful.— We slowly pulled on our socks and shoes while the trees cast deep, frigid shadows over us. Our feet stung walking back to the road. Ten steps, then twenty. Back toward a camper, toward a life waiting to slowly break us down into nothing.
