@roblanderos@SamHarrisOrg@noUpside If you have any example of anyone high ranking in our intelligence community who has concerns of distortion who isn't a Trump appointee, I'd love to see what they have to say.
@roblanderos@SamHarrisOrg@noUpside I'm glad you put the word serious in quotes. I know you didn't mean it that way, but it says everything it needs to. No reputable "serious" voice has anything to say that contradicts this podcast. Just Russian trolls and bots and Trumpkins who offer up platters of bad-faith noise
@Garrith3 @roblanderos@SamHarrisOrg@noUpside It's a very real dilemma. How to not amplify the voices of trolls and bots on Twitter and other SM platforms where the signal:noise is drowning our civilization and making it impossible for serious people to have honest disagreements. Anyone anonymous on Twitter is *not serious.
@roblanderos@SamHarrisOrg@noUpside If a more serious person were to make the case in this video I'd take the time to explain all his points that misunderstand the information. However, I doubt anyone watching him cares about understanding and justs gets an emotional thrill from someone repeating what they feel.
@roblanderos@SamHarrisOrg@noUpside So, on the one hand, we have Sam's guest who is an expert in this field and provides a detailed report that paints a really scary picture of Russia's war on our society and on the other, we have an uninformed pundit who either intentionally or naively misunderstands the data.
@jackmurphylive I agree entirely. But then I wouldn't use the expression "so what?" and use "does this really matter?". "So What" is already understood to imply that the decision about the lack of relevance has already been made. At least that's how I use it. Maybe I'm unusual there?
Patreon's decision to ban Carl Benjamin suggests that it has now established guidelines that are so broad and vague that they could be applied to almost any situation, including non-funded activity, argues @safeortrue. https://t.co/aLYarKelWv
@chokapa1233 @RubinReport \3 but if more of the GOP started being more honest brokers and started taking him to task for things that really warrant "checks and balance" I suspect more Dems would take their foot off the gas of universal criticism. That may be wishful thinking but it's also not the point.
@chokapa1233 @RubinReport \2 opposition party is doing its job of reigning him in is just that - self-delusion. Now you're right that he's being demonized for 100% of his actions even when a much smaller % is deserving of said critiue -his policy is being mixed in with his criminal and treasonous behavior
@Charley_Carroll@RubinReport I'm not sure what you're referring to. I readily admit that the media have a specific ax to grind which makes it harder for me to make my point without sounding partisan, but I'm coming at this from a purely fact-based analysis.
@Charley_Carroll@RubinReport That's not the comparison I'm drawing. I'm speaking specifically about the nods of the hat to shutting down journalistic institutions that don't toe the official line et al. Threatening to send political opponents to jail; suggesting that the law agencies are out to get him, etc.
@BretWeinstein@JamesADamore and to be clear - I am entirely open to the notion that this is all 100% legit. But Google is an information powerhouse hitherto unknown in history. The world will understand this story however Google tells it; That fight is lost before it begins.
@BretWeinstein@JamesADamore Bret - please be extremely careful in jumping on this story. Google can spin this any way they want and you, as a central figure in the IDW, can (and will) be made to look like a fool and used to discredit the movement. James' fate with Google is sealed. Give this time to simmer.
@AtheistRepublic How many points of incredulity do you have to skip over before you're tapping "sloths" to discredit the Ark myth? And if all those other points didn't convince them then I'm going to say this one isn't going to seal the deal either. Sorry.
