@SamElkhorn @GLOBEMEL Will do! It would be great to see that letter also mention the disproportionate rates of incarceration for disabled people, especially neurodivergent/mentally ill people. Ableism is often left out of these conversations even though disability justice is central to decarceration.

Nominating a prison for a trans inclusion award is fundamentally incompatible with trans liberation. Prisons are part of the carceral system that targets trans people, POC especially Aboriginal people, and disabled people especially neurodivergent/mentally ill people @GLOBEMEL
