Based on the feedback from parents at our art exhibition event earlier this year , we have decided to provide young parents with workshops focusing on mental health , anti bullying and special educational needs to be better equipped for the young generation.

Dyslexia can affect individuals of all races and genders. However, it’s important to note that the impact of dyslexia on Black women can intersect with other factors, potentially leading to unique challenges and experiences.

The alarming disparity in SEN diagnoses among Black women demands a closer look at systemic biases. Black women are often overlooked with the need for early diagnoses resulting to late diagnoses or self diagnoses .

Let's ensure every voice is heard and supported . 🤝🏽💕

Understanding intersectionality is crucial to recognize and address the complex, interconnected forms of discrimination and privilege that black women with SEN may face. It emphasizes the need for a more inclusive and nuanced approach to social justice and equality.

At YGNU we aim to bring awareness to special educational needs despite sign language being a useful communication for non hearing. Some autistic children struggle to develop verbal communication and sign language is an easier form of communication. 💬
