Too much emphasis on romance. Originally, in Rizal's NMT, MC and Ibarra just met twice or thrice. Ito ay dahil hindi naman talaga romance ang gustong iparating na mensahe ni Rizal. The novel tackles a wide range of national issues that are still common in today's generation.

Now, everything's got out of hand and is a complete mess. Wala na si Elias. The series lacks detailed explanations about the events that happened. Walang focus sa mga mahihirap at tulisanes (sina Lucia at Elias). All of these, nawala dahil nasa alta sociedad at romance lang kayo.
