@GongGasGirl I think instead of thinking of learning to use ultrasound for x procedure, we should think of "learning ultrasound skills" period. Once the physics associated with the technology is understood and the hand-eye coordination learned, the info is applicable in all procedures

@GongGasGirl I pull it out of my toolbox if I need it. But for routine IVs, optimal vein preparation and ergonomics usually do the trick. Ultrasound in my institution still means having to wheel a machine over wires across hallways.
