I appeared alongside my Principal at the Supreme Court of Nigeria today as a National Youth Corper(barely 7 months after my Call to the Nigerian Bar) and we won the case. I’m super excited!!!😎

2006 a kid arrived at Chelsea with a dream in his heart, boots too big for his feet, but belief from the start. Fast forward to 2026, still wearing the same blue shirt with the same fire inside. This club raised me, shaped me, and gave me a place to call home. Through every game, every battle, every lesson I’ve grown. Now the journey rolls on, the dream still true. Extended till 2032… and still bleeding blue.
For a small Belgian guy from Braine-le-Comte playing for fun, being inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame with these greats of the game at 34 years old is crazy. Thank you to all of you; I will see you soon, my friends! 💙
Dear Rt. Hon Sir @Keir_Starmer, KC and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland,
I bring you greetings. This message would not be complete, if popular opposition politicians are not tagged especially, the Rt Hon. @KemiBadenoch MP and Leader of His Majesty Opposition, the Rt. Hon @Nigel_Farage, Anti Migrant Propagandist.
It is a moral responsibility on political players in our political ecosystem to be truthful to the electorates. As a matter of fact, it should be criminal to misinform the electorates or push propaganda that could be termed as misinformation.
I also emplore migrants to have an open and honest conversation with some of their folks because there is a lot of misinformation going around.
I had a very interesting conversation with a white British gentleman yesterday and at first he thought I was a foreigner which I admit to be, but at the moment I am a British citizen.
He thought that foreigners just get to the UK easily and take everything and are given priority than British people. He thinks and holds strongly that foreigners take British jobs.
I smiled 😊 because I was about to be mischievous. We continue our conversation.
In the course of the conversation, I asked him his age and he told me which is roughly around my age. I asked his qualifications and he said he didn't have a University education.
I went further to tell him that we are almost the same age and based on his initial assertion that foreigners take British jobs, it will be right for him to say I may have taken his job since we are almost within the same age bracket.
He didn't say anything.
I asked if he thinks he can take my job back because it is his job that I initially took and nothing wrong for him to take it back? He laughed.
I said firstly, he needs to have a law degree, Master in law, two postgraduate legal training, qualify in two or more jurisdictions and at least 12 years work experience as well as other legal and regulatory requirements as well as be able to manage more than 100 caseloads
He said that's like forever. I said, that it is a part of my CV to keep my current job which he agrees would have been his job.
I hope we understand the misinformation from our interactions?
This led me to the reason why I decided to address the PM et al.
It will cost an average MSc student the following to get to the UK :
1. Tuition fees = app £12000 plus
2. Immigrant Health Surcharge(IHS)= £1216
3. Application fee= £550
4. Tax in Accommodation
5. Tax in the airline ticket
Upon Arrival in the UK
1. Monthly Tax and NI Contributions
2. Other tax not elsewhere classified
Upon Successful completion of the Course
1. Application £890
2. IHS = £2070
3. NI Contribution and Tax
Five Year Skilled Worker Visa
1. Application fee = £590 to £900
2. IHS = £0 to £5175
These are the basics. I have stayed almost 24 years in the UK and have used the NHS not more than 4 times.
How is legal migrants a leach on the system or taking British jobs?
This sort of propaganda is what we read from a particular country with a drug man at the helm of affairs, not the UK or from Orange man across the Atlantic.
Let's be British because our politics should be fact based.
Thank you 😊
5 Signs It’s Time to Get Professional Support for Your Child Footballer
🗣 A strong football future starts with informed parents. 🎯
Raising a young footballer is one of the most fulfilling journeys a parent can experience.
From playful kickabouts in the backyard to competitive academy trials, every step feels like a dream unfolding.
But, here comes the most important question that most parents face:
🤲 When does my support stop being enough and when should I bring in professionals?
At this stage, you either take the next step... or watch opportunities fade because you didn’t…
🔹️Understanding the Two Roles: Parent and Professional Supporter
As a parent, your role begins with emotional stability, encouragement, and care. These are the roots of every successful young player.
However, as football becomes more competitive, your child’s development requires expertise, where you have to evolve from being the sole guide to strategic partner.
🔹️Here are 5 signs it’s time to bring in professional support 👇
1️⃣ Talent Outgrows the Local Scene
When your child consistently dominates local tournaments or stands out at regional trials, it’s a sign they’ve outgrown their environment.
Now, they need structured development programs with elite competition, professional coaching, and advanced physical conditioning.
2️⃣ Professional Interest Begins to Appear
Once scouts, academies, or agents start showing interest—you’re entering the business side of football.
⚠️ Trial invitations, consent forms, and representation agreements come with legal and financial implications.
Before signing anything, understand what each document means. Check our blog for Common Mistakes Parents Make in Football Representation.
3️⃣ Travel and Training Commitments Increase
With progress comes a busy schedule— longer trips, more hours on the pitch etc
Without proper planning, the demands can quickly overwhelm both of you without a clear plan— Involve professionals to help you effectively manage rest, and ensure your child’s wellbeing.
4️⃣ Career Decisions Become Complex
Soon, you’ll face questions that go beyond family discussions:
Should we accept this academy offer? Move abroad? Pause school? Sign this deal? Each decision has lasting consequences.
At this point, the service of a FIFA-licensed agent or sports lawyer becomes invaluable.
5️⃣ Emotional Pressure Affects Performance
When the spotlight grows, so does the stress.
Young players can face anxiety, fear of failure, or burnout. This is here mentors and psychologists come in to help manage the mental side while you remain in the safe space they can always return to,
🔹️Making the Transition Smooth and Healthy🤏
The shift from parenting to professional support doesn’t have to feel abrupt.
🔸️Start small.
🔸️Educate yourself about how academies, representation, and contracts work.
🔸️Build a trusted circle of coaches, mentors, fitness specialists, and licensed agents who share your values.
🔹️Keep the Emotional Connection Alive
Even with professionals in the mix, your presence is irreplaceable.
Show up. Cheer. Encourage. Protect confidence.
Avoid obsessing over results; focus on growth. Let your child see football as part of who they are — not their entire identity.
🔹️Parent Transition Checklist
Here’s a quick checklist to help you know where you stand and what to do next:
✅ Evaluate your child’s current stage
✅ Assess external interest or scout attention
✅ Understand the legal basics before signing
✅ Protect education and mental health
✅ Stay emotionally available— talk beyond football
At the end of the day, your greatest role isn’t to push your child to the top, it’s to help them rise the right way.
