🚨 Ronaldo Nazário (R9) on who is better: himself or Cristiano Ronaldo:
"People often compare us because we are both named Ronaldo, but our careers were very different.
I won the World Cup, and that is something nobody can take away from me. But football greatness is not decided by one tournament alone. It is measured by the impact you leave on the game."
"When Cristiano started his career, Portugal was not considered one of football's traditional superpowers like Brazil, Argentina, France, Germany, or Spain. Those countries had generations of world-class players and a long history of winning major trophies."
"Cristiano changed that. He became the face of Portuguese football and led his country to trophies that many people never believed Portugal could win. An entire generation of Portuguese players grew up inspired by him and dreamed of playing at the highest level in Europe because of what he achieved."
"At my best, I believe I had abilities that very few players in history possessed. But Cristiano's longevity, discipline, mentality, and achievements over more than twenty years are extraordinary."
You can say whatever you want, but the way the club has handled the ending of this season, Pep, Bernardo and John's exits shown who that we are truly a step above the rest.
And for one, even though haters say we don't have it, we've shown the club has more soul than anyone.
Before I joined the club, Pep was already an inspiration for me. To become his player and after 9 years end up being the one with most games played under him is truly an honour. He arrived at Man City, and the Premier League couldn’t be dominated playing his way… Well, they were wrong. Not only he dominated, he changed the game in England as he did in other countries before. The hunger and ambition to want more and more even after winning and winning again was a big inspiration. For me personally, he was and will always be my father of football. A lot of the things that many managers in the past thought were weaknesses of my game, he saw it as strengths and understood me from day one. On a personal level, the kindness, trust and respect that we had for each other makes me the proudest and goes beyond football. I couldn’t be more grateful for what he did for me and my family. Thank you for all the memories and experiences to the greatest manager ever Pep Guardiola! 😄
Since 2017 Manchester United has spent €1.9B on transfers
Chelsea has spent €2.7B
Arsenal have have spent €1.6B
Liverpool have spent €1.4B
Man City has spent €2B
In comparison Pep and City have won 20 TROPHIES, the other clubs haven’t even won half of that within that time.
Now with the other managers down here why does no one call them chequebook managers? By the time Pep had spent €1B he had 10 TROPHIES at City. By the end of his tenure he now has €2B spent in total with ANOTHER 10 trophies. Only Thomas Tuchel had won same amount of trophies by the €1B mark.
Look at Arteta, Eddie Howe, Emery, Simeone etc no one ever calls them chequebook managers because they DONT WIN with their money, it only becomes a problem because Pep actually won with his.
Sometimes you just have to appreciate greatness when you see it and Pep Guardiola is the definition of it! 🐐
