@therealburns3 The only one I was paying attention for was San Fran as NY teams and the Cowboys were in those locations most of my life, but yes:
The 49ers moving to Santa Clara was a huge deal and the Super Bowl being in Santa Clara reiterated how distant and removed it feels from the action
I'm not saying "time to panic" so much as I'm saying it's not entirely awesome that the highest level of delinquencies since the 2008 financial crisis are coinciding with near-record low savings rates during a period of stubbornly high interest rates and rising inflation
I desperately need several thousand very online people to understand that sometimes, the best thing you can do to help your preferred cause or candidate--especially if it's out of state--is to shut up and let someone else be the messenger.
@AndyHermanNFL@JuMosq Any interest in Taylor Lewan or Kevin Zeitler?
Both of you referenced wanting a better 6th OL and referenced the Matt Bowen article about remaining free agents in which both were listed.
@by_JBH@TheLeapGB I can't shake the feeling that it is epic cope to believe that the team voluntarily played weaker at LT in order to give Morgan a shot at being a bad guard.
Walker won the job. I know he did because he played the position. And he kept the position even when he didn't play well.
@mattyglesias self-reported preferences are almost entirely irrelevant. You need revealed preferences through behavior. Most people have no idea why they do most of the things they do; and they don't act how they assume they would act given any number of presented circumstances.
@Peter_Bukowski if asked, the Packers coach--based on previous experience--would indeed not tell you anything useful.
They can all play every position, they'd remind us.
@MarkOldacres I would guess that the context of this conversation was the Athletic Football Podcast when they stated that the NFC North has the best pass catchers of any division because the Packers are ~probably~ worst but still very good.
I wouldn't overthink it
@StevePalazzolo_ counterpoint: Ron Wolf traded for Brett Favre, drafted Mark Brunell, Matt Hasselbeck, Aaron Brooks, and Ty Detmer. Signed Kurt Warner as an UDFA
Also drafted Craig Nall (5th), Ron McAda (7th), Kyle Wachholtz (7th), Jay Barker (5th)
Sample size and success rate
@ByRyanWood I'm annoyed that we can't watch these ourselves and I have to bug reporters on twitter, but how much was Butkus pushed on how last year's play compared to "the standard" or expectations and what specifically will change to meet the standard this year?
@Peter_Bukowski Do we ACTUALLY believe that a player won the LT battle and the team was like "ya know what? We really need him to be a below-average RG for us instead. That's the best 5.
Morgan may play well, but we need to let go of this fantasy that he was better than Walker all along
