Hockey-related things I wish I could bring back home with me from #MilanoCortinaOlympics2026 to be implemented in the NHL.
-Games start on time
-15 minute intermissions
-No ads on boards
-No betting ad nonsense
-3-2-1 point system
-Raucous crowd chants/singing
The Leafs are going nowhere as long as Morgan Rielly is eating up 7.5 million a year. It’s mid January is this team trying to make the playoffs? Or trying to keep their top 5 pick. If it’s the first one. You have to move Rielly that’s the start. No one else matters
When Morgan Rielly shoots from the point on the PP, they might as well just pass the puck to their D-man and let them clear it early. Why waste everyone’s time
Ford gave his Minister of Education, Paul Calandra, total control of the 600 TDSB schools and the education of 240,000 students.
Calandra just eliminated the maximum class cap of 32 students in Middle schools.
We need our elected trustees back—people who elected to serve students and parents—not a Minister of Education with no education experience brought in to privatize the system.

Players who were eligible to play for Canada at WJC but are currently in the NHL. Claims the Canadian system is broken due to one loss to Czechia. Overblown.
You can dislike things about the state of minor hockey... Cost, pressure on young kids, academies, year-round hockey etc, but the country still develops many good players, in fact it is so good six of them are in the NHL as teenagers and playing well.
No system is perfect, and having rational discussions about minor hockey would be great, but trying to use a loss in a game, which was a great game, which was a one-game-winner-take-all as a basis that the Canadian system is broken is a major reach. Also, it illustrates a bit of arrogance in thinking Canada has to win every major tourney or the system is broken.
