As part of our mission to deliver modern tools to bridge the media literacy gap in The Gambia, YoMIL is distributing the Young Women’s Media Guide to School Press Clubs in Rural and Urban Gambia. With the help of our Local Assistance, about ten schools have received the guide.
The purpose of the school guide distribution is to strengthen press clubs by providing them a handy tool to support their local media work and to inspire future media leaders.
We urge editors to champion this guide as a resource for inclusive reporting and encourage female journalists to take the lead in shaping narratives that reflect the voices and realities of women and girls.

In a bold step towards promoting career prospects in Media, YoMIL has distributed the Young Women’s Media Guide to leading broadcast mediums in The Gambia. The media institutions include QTV, (GRTS), Paradise TV and Radio, Star TV and Radio, Kerr Fatou, and The Fatu Network.
The YoMIL Media Guide, crafted by young women in media and information literacy, is now in the hands of leading Gambian newsrooms, including the Gambia Information Department (Gambia Daily), The Point Newspaper, The Voice Newspaper, The Standard Newspaper and Foroyaa Newspaper.
After successfully conducting the first ever Women in Media Summit, we are now distributing copies of our Young women’s Media Guide across the seven regions of The Gambia. The targeted beneficiaries of the printed copies are Media outlets, Press Clubs and CSO’s. #Women#YoMIL
It is with immense pleasure to launch the First National Women in Media Summit and Young Women’s Media Guide in The Gambia. This milestone is a testament of the growing demand for Media Literacy initiatives across regions to bridge the gender divide in the Gambian media space.
