1836: “Remember the Alamo!” & Pearl Harbor Dec 7, 1941: “A date which will live in Infamy!” & 9/11: “The people who knocked these buildings down will hear from all of us soon!” Jan 6th: “Whooo? 🤷♂️, Whaaa? 🤷♂️”
A lot of names have been bandied around to describe the form of government Donald Trump tried to impose on us during his administration. "Fascism" was used commonly, as were words like "little dictator," and "cult of personality."

@SethAbramson @cliveboyce77 Notice the “thin blue line” symbolic flag behind him in the background. This is no accident. White purity military police state “cleaning up” the black / brown / liberal sinners. What does “clean up” mean? Ethnic cleansing perhaps? 🤔 (Lock away / disposal of liberals) #Fascism
Another great podcast episode from @chaunceydevega with @swoolhandler - I especially liked the “deaths of despair” discussion toward the end. “If you keep getting unlawfully pulled-over & detained by police, you might have some despair!” https://t.co/3eWR6h5TaX
@Aku_KuLu We talk about science, politics, & American history too. Co2, global warming, & the politics of it all, etc. Earth, space, evolution, dinosaurs, tar pits, bugs, animals - we YouTube curious stuff. We recently learned about “water skeeters” in- depth on YouTube. Fascinating! 🙂
@Aku_KuLu I agree. I’m trying to give every ounce of my thoughts, wisdom , & funny life stories to them, as much as I can, and as much as possible in case...you know...I find driving in the car & dinner time discussions are the best times. They always say, “tell us another story!” 🙂
@Aku_KuLu 🙏 Yeah, I keep asking & drilling, “Be Smart & Be Kind” into the girls, but then as I thought more about it, it became more of a thought exercise on Twitter & the list grew. I’m not helicoptering over them with this stuff, but it’s a good brainstorm discussion to have w/ them.
@NotSoProudYank Meditate, quiet reflection, read, absorb & create art, be outside, have balance and focus, gratitude, keep a sense of humor.... and the list goes on and on...🙂
@NotSoProudYank The story of Adam and Eve is really fucked-up, and I have walked them through it point by point so they can be aware of some of the patriarchal thinking in our society & to veer away & rise above it. They learn to stand up for themselves with boys, other girls, or even adults.
@NotSoProudYank When I’m reading classic fairytale literature w/ the girls, I’m always teaching them about patriarchy. Why do you think they’re portraying the girl as needing help? Why do you think they’re blaming the girl? Why does the boy get to be the hero? Who’s writing this & when?
@NotSoProudYank Thanks, it’s hard to fit everything in one tweet, but regarding being “pretty“, we teach them not to be a Barbie doll, but more like, take care of yourself, like a shower, comb your hair, dress nice, etc...have a confident beauty for yourself & others. 👍🙂
