Major confrontation between China and the Philippines near the Scarborough Shoal.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) have deployed 2 PCG vessels and 5 fishery patrol vessels to the shoal after Chinese Coast Guard vessels started harassing more than 20 Filipino fishing boats in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of the Philippines.

A Filipino Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) flight over the area documented 6 China Coast Guard (CCG) vessels, 20 China Maritime Militia (CMM) vessels, and one People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLA Navy) warship carrying out offensive activities in the area.

Israel tried to pressure Barack Obama to launch military strikes on Iran, according to former US secretary of state Antony Blinken, who said Israeli leaders warned they would attack themselves if Washington refused.

Obama rejected the push for war, arguing the better approach to Iran’s nuclear program was "very muscular diplomacy" backed by global sanctions rather than immediate military action.

Blinken also revealed the US nearly entered another regional war after the October 7 attacks, when Israeli officials gave false information insisting Hezbollah was about to attack from Lebanon and pushed for a pre-emptive strike.

Donald Trump promised to make America “great again.” Instead, he’s made it empty.

According to blistering figures from the International Trade Administration, international tourism to the United States collapsed 4.2 percent in 2025, Trump’s first year back in the White House — the first annual decline since COVID. While the rest of the world reopened and rebounded, America slammed the door.

The damage is staggering. The U.S. Travel Association estimates the U.S. lost 11 million international visitors, translating into $50 billion in vanished spending and hundreds of thousands of jobs wiped out. And here’s the kicker: global tourism rose 4 percent during the same period. The U.S. is now the only major destination losing visitor spending.

Why? Take your pick.

Trump has turned entry into the United States into a gauntlet of fear and humiliation. His administration has blocked visitors from more than a dozen countries, suspended visa issuance to 75 countries, and supercharged border searches of phones and laptops — up 18 percent in a single year. Tourists aren’t seeing freedom. They’re seeing interrogation rooms.

There are receipts. A Norwegian tourist said he was denied entry after agents found a meme mocking Vice President JD Vance on his phone. A Welsh backpacker was detained for nearly three weeks. Germans were held for weeks — even in solitary confinement — without charges. A U.S. citizen and her German fiancé were detained while re-entering her own country.

And then there’s the optics. Trump’s ICE crackdowns make global headlines. His bullying of allies. His bizarre fixation on Greenland. His tariffs that make travel and trade feel radioactive. As Tourism Economics bluntly put it, America is “losing market share” because the world now sees a country less open, less welcoming, and more hostile.

Even Canada — historically one of the biggest sources of U.S. tourism — has started looking elsewhere, with visits dropping 10.2 percent in a single year.

This isn’t patriotism. It’s self-sabotage. Trump didn’t just build walls at the border — he built one around the entire country. And the world took the hint.

America didn’t become great again. It became the place tourists warn each other about.
