VIDEO: IGP DISU MEETS NIGER GOVERNOR OVER DEATH OF 37 SUSPECTED ILLEGAL MINERS

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc (+), NPM, has arrived at the Niger State Government House, Minna, over the death of 37 suspected illegal miners in NSCDC custody.

Kindly find below the State-by-State Executive Summary of @policeNG Operational Successes for 11th September, 2026:

1. JIGAWA STATE (10th September, 2026): NEUTRALISATION OF ARMED ROBBER / RECOVERY OF EXHIBITS

✅ Police operatives responding to an armed robbery attack in Hadejia engaged the suspects in a gun duel.

✅ One armed robber was successfully neutralised, while others fled with gunshot wounds.

✅ Two Android phones, two power banks and a pair of shoes were recovered.

🔹 Status: SCID Dutse Investigating.

2. LAGOS STATE : ARREST OF FIVE ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS / RECOVERY OF THREE FIREARMS AND 300 ROUNDS OF LIVE AMMUNITION

✅ Acting on credible intelligence, Police tactical operatives successfully arrested the ring leader of an armed robbery syndicate and four other members.

✅ Recovered were three locally-made pistols, five unexpended cartridges and 300 rounds of 9mm live ammunition.

🔹 Status: SCID Panti Investigating.

3. EBONYI STATE (9th September, 2026): RESCUE OF ABDUCTED VICTIM / RECOVERY OF VEHICLE

✅ Following the abduction of Reverend Ede Sunday John Tobechukwu by armed men, Police operatives immediately mobilised and trailed the fleeing assailants.

✅ Sustained pursuit forced the abductors to abandon the victim, who was successfully rescued unharmed.

✅ The victim's Toyota Avalon vehicle was also recovered.

🔹 Status: SCID Abakaliki Investigating.

4. DELTA STATE (9th September, 2026): RECOVERY OF THREE-YEAR-OLD STOLEN CHILD / ARREST OF TWO SUSPECTS

✅ Acting on a petition and following sustained investigation, Police operatives successfully recovered a three-year-old female child who was stolen at birth in 2023.

✅ Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Igbiaye were arrested in connection with the crime.

🔹 Status: SCID Asaba Investigating.

5. AKWA IBOM STATE (5th–9th September, 2026): ARREST OF SIX ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS / RECOVERY OF FIREARMS AND STOLEN PROPERTIES

✅ Following credible intelligence, Police operatives successfully intercepted three members of an armed robbery gang and subsequently arrested three additional members.

✅ Recovered were two locally-made pistols, two live cartridges, three expended cartridges and six serviceable motorcycles suspected to be stolen.

🔹 Status: SCID Uyo Investigating.

6. DELTA STATE (9th September, 2026): ARREST OF SUSPECTED CULTIST / RECOVERY OF FIREARM AND DANGEROUS WEAPONS

✅ Acting on actionable intelligence, Police operatives successfully arrested a suspected criminal shrine operator involved in firearms dealings.

✅ Recovered were one pump-action gun, four dagger knives, one battle axe and substances suspected to be charms.

🔹 Status: SCID Asaba Investigating.

7. PLATEAU STATE (10th September, 2026): ARREST OF THREE ARMED ROBBERY AND KIDNAPPING SUSPECTS / RECOVERY OF FIREARM AND AMMUNITION

✅ Acting on credible intelligence, Police detectives successfully arrested three suspected members of a criminal gang terrorising Pankshin LGA and its environs.

✅ Recovered were one Browning pistol, 11 rounds of 9mm live ammunition, one machete and assorted charms.

🔹 Status: SCID Jos Investigating.

8. FCT STATE (9th September, 2026): ARREST OF 54 SUSPECTS / RECOVERY OF ILLICIT DRUGS

✅ Police operatives from Maitama, Wuse, Utako and Durumi Divisions conducted coordinated raids on identified black spots and uncompleted buildings.

✅ Fifty-four suspects were successfully arrested, while dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and other illicit drugs were recovered.

🔹 Status: CID Abuja Investigating.

9. ZAMFARA STATE (10th September, 2026): ARREST OF FIVE SUSPECTS / RECOVERY OF 70 BAGS OF CEMENT AND IRON RODS

✅ Following credible intelligence, Police operatives raided a suspected criminal hideout and successfully arrested five suspects.

✅ Recovered were 70 bags of cement, seven bundles of 12mm iron rods and two empty drums, suspected to be property of the Ekiti State Airport.

🔹 Status: SCID Ado-Ekiti Investigating.
