[Rahul Gandhi @RahulGandhi]

Mama,

I last saw you and Papa together more than 35 years ago. Since the day Papa left, I have watched you face everything life threw at you with never-ending courage and dignity. Only Priyanka and I really know what you have been through, and how difficult your life after Papa truly was.

I am happy, and so proud, that your story - “Belonging: A Journey of Love” - will finally be read by the millions of people who love you. I know how hard it was for someone as private as you to tell the world your beautiful story.

Today, on his birthday, I can see Papa smiling and looking down proudly at his beautiful Sonia.

Love,
Rahul

▪️The western half of the under-construction Pune Outer Ring Road from Mumbai-Pune Expressway to Pune-Bangalore Highway (NH48) is now clearly visible in satellite images.

▪️The western half consists of 5 packages and the following firms are working on them:

1️⃣ W1: Megha Engineering
2️⃣ W2: Navayuga Engineering
3️⃣ W3: Navayuga Engineering
4️⃣ W4: Navayuga Engineering
5️⃣ W5: GR Infraprojects

▪️Navayuga Engineering is doing a brilliant job on all their packages.

▪️GR Infraprojects is also doing a great job.

▪️Megha Engineering is lagging behind as they started the work late.

▪️Looking at the current status, the western half would be completely ready by end-2028.

▪️It will play a big role in decongesting areas like Khed-Shivapur Toll Plaza, Navale Bridge, Chandni Chowk, Wakad etc by diverting heavy traffic.

[Shashi Tharoor @ShashiTharoor]

The resignation of the Education Minister is an acknowledgment that accountability in a democracy cannot be indefinitely evaded. It comes after weeks of determined, peaceful voices raised by students, parents and citizens across the country who refused to be ignored.

It also comes after far too many young Indians faced unnecessary police brutality and force for exercising their democratic right to peaceful protest. That should concern every citizen, regardless of political affiliation.

But accountability does not end with a resignation. The deeper failures that brought us here must now be addressed through transparent reforms, institutional responsibility and a commitment to ensuring that no young Indian’s future is jeopardised again.

The students who marched, spoke out and peacefully persisted deserve to know that this is the beginning of reform, not the end of the story.

#BREAKING "Don't waste our time," CJI Surya Kant on plea against police action on student protesters during #CJP march.

"We are not interested in videos, we don't have time to watch," CJI tells lawyer who said there are videos showing police atrocities.

[Rajdeep Sardesai @sardesairajdeep]

INTERESTING: Dont forget it took the CJI’s reference to the word “cockroach” to finally trigger youth protests. Now when videos of students allegedly being beaten or dragged were cited, the court says it has no time to watch them. Makes you wonder: what does our justice system choose to prioritise? 🙏

[Rahul Gandhi @RahulGandhi]

Met the Hon’ble Lok Sabha Speaker today along with MPs of the Opposition.

Our demand is simple: Parliament must have a detailed discussion on the brutality unleashed on students yesterday and on the government’s complete lack of accountability for the examination crisis.

Students were beaten for asking legitimate questions about their own future.

If Parliament cannot discuss the future of India’s youth, what is it for?

The Opposition will not let this be buried. We will ensure that the students’ voice will be heard on the streets, and in Parliament.
