1. Saya tidak pernah MENUTUPI "kejahatan" Assad. Saya orang Indonesia, buat apa ngurusin presiden negara orang? Yang saya lakukan: membongkar hoaks yang beredar. Selama ini (sejak 2011), saya sangat banyak menemukan foto dan video palsu, misalnya “tentara Assad memaksa tawanan untuk menyembah Assad,” padahal ternyata terbukti itu video di negara lain dengan bahasa lain, lalu didubbing. Atau, foto “kursi listrik yang dipakai Assad untuk menyiksa orang Sunni,” padahal itu foto kursi kuno di sebuah museum di Spanyol. Atau, “ruang penyiksaan rezim Assad,” padahal itu foto museum penjara di Tehran, dimana dulu Shah Pahlevi menyiksa para tawanan. Atau, video CNN soal senjata kimia yang terbukti hoaks.

Grand Mufti resmi Suriah Syekh Ahmad Badruddin Hassun pun seorang ulama besar Sunni. Bahkan istri Bashar yaitu Asma al Assad adalah seorang Muslimah Sunni dari Homs. Ini semua adalah fakta-fakta yang selalu ditutupi media-media radikal tanah air.
