Because of Prof. Pantami’s fantastic work with the NIN, every ghost worker on a government payroll can easily be removed today.

You cannot collect a salary, a pension or a palliative as a person who doesn’t exist when the system demands a fingerprint.

Even the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu saw the fantastic idea behind the NIN that Professor Isa Ali Pantami started, and signed the NIMC Act of 2026, making the NIN Nigeria’s foundational identity. One person, one identity.

Politicians like building things they can cut a ribbon for. Prof. Isa Ali Pantami built something invisible with the NIN, to sanitise this country forever.

Say whatever you want about him, but I would never hate someone who’s always done his best to improve my life.

When I joined ATBU Bauchi in the early 2010s as an undergraduate, it was mostly Professor Isa Ali Pantami’s students who led our MSSN.

They taught us religion, sat with brothers who were struggling, paid fees and fed people quietly, with no announcement.

I wish him success.

He literally invited Mohammed Yusuf to Bauchi for a public debate & shredded the Boko Haram founder to pieces right on our TVs.

Say what you like about Pantami. But as Minister, he pushed 1GB of data down from N1,200 to N350.

He took NIN enrolment from under 40m to over 100m.

ICT under him contributed 18.44% of GDP.

No minister before or since has come close to that.
