I'm going to try creating a Jean Phil-style investigator with AI for potential viral videos promoting my game. He'll have a Professor Layton-style researcher look and appear playing my game. It'll be interesting to see whether a video goes viral and what conversion it can drive🤠
@aitorapps Mine's a game, so I guess marketing works a bit differently than for an app solving a problem (murdoku style). Screenshots are ready (pretty happy with them tho). I've started organic TikTok, stuck at ~300 views, and I'm researching Apple Ads for a €200 test.
I'd like to meet more devs launching their first iOS app. Mine is waiting for Apple review, and I'm figuring out marketing from scratch. If you're at a similar stage, tell me what you're building. It'd be good to compare notes.
For those who've launched an iOS app/game: where did your first users outside friends and family come from? I'm especially interested in the small, unglamorous things that worked before you had an audience.
For my first TikTok slides, I'm going to try a small challenge people can solve as they swipe. For the moment, it seems I'm stuck at the 300-view mark; we'll see if I can turn that around.
What has worked best for you?
Next job for my first iOS game: figuring out marketing. I'm starting with organic TikTok slides and probably a €200 Apple Ads experiment. I'm curious how people who discover a game while scrolling compare with people actively searching for one.
First iOS game submitted to Apple. Now I wait and hope I haven't missed anything obvious. Apple's current review guide says most submissions are reviewed within 48 hours, though some take longer. Fingers crossed.
