@RishabhJainx@agadmator Very easy to blame Magnus. Easy to blame the one that speaks out or acts out. It's all painted that way, it's always "Magnus forced FIDE" and never "FIDE forced Magnus". You could insert any name in the case of FIDE. Is he a child - yes. Does he hold sole blame - obviously not.
@Njnkjbjkb @NickLuto @agadmator "Arbiter probably didn't want another fight". What kind of arbiter is that? Or rather arbiter, just like in the Jeans Gambit Accepted just called supervisor/ceo/president, because he's just a blocked pawn in an endgame.
@TheButcherChess Such black&white read, it's insane. They played a while, could not determine a winner. Both were tired, they ASKED the arbiter, FIDE made a call. Are they to blame? Yes, partly, but at the same time the competition did not encourage them to win enough, obviously.
@DefeatVictory@AlojzijeJ Magnus politely asked the arbiter - "I was wondering if we could split the title". Say what you will, but that was sportsmanship. When Hikaru let the clock run out to beat Magnus in SCC a while ago, Magnus congratulated the strategy. Look closely, he is a sportsman.
@War_Campaigner@ChessbaseIndia First of all, this is not match-fixing. It is supposable future match-fixing "if this happens, we do this". Second - if rules took care of match end, that wouldn't be possible. It's easy to only blame the 2 players, while at the same time the system is to blame too (rather more)
@GothamChess Being extra punitive to the one you deliberately put on table 1 for the tournament, because of sponsors and punishing him because the rules are not to displease the sponsors is some special level of hypocrisy. Magnus was also probably aware, but in this flex game, to me, he wins.
@alexandrabotez Quite a few players wore jeans. It becomes a judgement call at some point what is jeans and what is not. This is not fair. FIDE put Magnus on table 1 for the whole tournament and now they make an example out of him? That's borderline ridiculous.

@liberaledisofia Значи "ние няма да издигнем", ама "не може този". Такава беззъба позиция всеки може да заеме, при това няма нужда да се става от дивана.
