This Group A and B double-header has got me fighting for my life — well, the remote anyway.
Dissent within the ranks. Family members threatening to turn over and asking, “Are we watching this crap every night?”
Yes.
Yes, we are.
@YCSP84 Was in the back of my dad’s mate’s Granada following 1 of the City coaches after the game. They also put a brick through our back passenger window, lovely bunch. Remember a chilly ride home over m62
@PictureSporting@jackrussellart Remember skipping lectures to listen to it on TMS with my house mate and with the scorecard on teletext. And not daring to move from our positions until close of play!
@YorkCityFC Interesting to look back on the Pools line up. Aswell as a future #ycfc manager, a future City playoff winner and former keeper Eddie Blackburn - a young Andy Linighan & the great Ray Kennedy! (Odd to think Pools were pretty much bottom that season!)
@thecrescent78 Remember it well, was living with 2 Brighton fans at the time. Think they were already down? Skipped lectures to listen to the rearranged match - think it was a weekday morning? (eat yer heart out #DAZN ). We needed to win to stay up & could just about get Barry Parker on MW!
@YfrontFanzine Strange game. Felt like a free kick every 30 secs at times. But precious 3pts. Howe & MFW rock solid. Ability to mix it & stand up against physical opposition as important in this league as the beautiful free flowing football. In recent seasons we would have got bullied.
@YfrontFanzine@Aotearoafeline Remember meeting Peter Shilton after a home match on the day of my 19th birthday the season after promotion. Think Plymouth also made the playoffs that season.
Love that about the pre-game fans matches!
@YfrontFanzine One of my all time favourite City players in 1 of my all time favourite home shirts!
Also love the video shack board in the background. Happy memories. Think they also sponsored the ball boys tracksuits?
@YCSP84 Interesting to note a certain #ycfc school boy getting a mention in the Arsenal match programme, a few years before becoming a City regular (& promotion winner - despite the handball! 😆)
in the days when City able to develop youngsters into the first team on a regular basis.
@ColinSi39872230@YfrontFanzine Yes! still got mine! 😁
Sadly long since lost the white away shorts from the away kit.
Also had a pair of those mizino boots ❤️❤️
