For those sucking up and regurgitating all the misinformation because it suits the narratives that outrage you:
1) YouTube is not being banned. The under-16 friendly version remains available. Content design for adults does not.
2) BlueSky has not been exempted. No definitive list has been published yet.
Social media was created for adults, not children. Over the years it has been used by more and more by children to access unsuitable, addictive and damaging content. Mental health issues in kids has accellerated sharply since they began regularly accessing this content, including a 50% rise in suicide rates over just 10 years.
If you are outraged by legislation designed to provide significant protection for children, then you are the problem, not the legislation.
The parents who are complaining about the social media ban are also the kind of parents who complain and defend their child when the school informs them that their child is misbehaving in class ๐
@Matty_XXXUK@mthrshipconnect Again I work in a healthcare setting. You do not discuss clients on social media in any capacity.
It's a sackable offence.
@Matty_XXXUK@mthrshipconnect She's highlighted their medical conditions that makes them identifiable especially if they were to go online and see that a therapist talking about an individual with specific health conditions trying to get access to PS5 ๐
@Matty_XXXUK@mthrshipconnect Because they've been given different options of verification.
If they can't provide any of those then that is not the responsibility of sony.
Part of the T&C's of making an account with them.
@mthrshipconnect@Matty_XXXUK@Dr_Bekka_UK She's just wants an echo chamber.
If she was a mental health professional she'd understand why this happened ( social media is terrible for the mental health of young people and people in general)
@mthrshipconnect@Matty_XXXUK Because they'll lose their jobs that's why. Anyone who works in a medical/care setting knows this.
You don't disclose client information or anything that would make them identifiable.
@Matty_XXXUK@mthrshipconnect Really shocked that you don't understand how security works and patient confidentiality for that matter.
Good thing you don't work for the NHS.
@mthrshipconnect@Matty_XXXUK As a disabled person its not even that deep, if they bought the PS5 then they can contact Sony.
It's really not that difficult but again people on here like to ragebait and spread misinformation
