This month, Joe is back to give an update on Yorkshire's water resources. We're pleased to say that despite the warmer weather recently, there are no hosepipe restrictions in place, and our reservoir levels are at 64.8%.
Joe is joined by our colleague Parker at Ogden reservoir in West Yorkshire. Weโre in a much better position for this time of year compared to last year, when levels were at 47.4%. Weโre still working on our infrastructure upgrades and leakage reduction programme that will help preserve water resources, and we're working closely with retailers and non-household customers to help them with their water efficiency. We recently published our draft Drought Management Plan 2027 on our website, which we have carefully reviewed and updated based on our learnings from 2025. You can view it here: https://t.co/TxwSAb7Yzb

Although reservoir levels are healthy at the moment, itโs still really important we all use water wisely to save where we can โ thank you for your help and understanding.
@ChkeitaKing Hello, thank you for making us aware. Do you have the postcode and first line of address where this is? I will look into this - Yorkshire Water Social Team
Work has just completed on the main construction phase of one of our combined sewer overflow projects in Worsbrough, Barnsley.
A new 68m underground pipe nest has been constructed beneath Ward Green Community Park to help reduce discharges into local watercourses by increasing capacity in the network.
Over the next few months, our teams will be carrying out the final connection works and once the work is done, the field will be reseeded so this area of the park can be enjoyed by the local community again.

@JulieLi52673569 Hi Julie. I am sorry to hear this! Our complaints team should be in touch with you soon to discuss the matter - Yorkshire Water Social Team
We advise not to if the water is discoloured just incase washing gets stained. You would know this if your water was not clear than usual. We give the discolouration advice in case this does happen. Normally the water stays clear during and after flushing - Yorkshire Water Social Team
@DOGE_UK_NOW Good morning @DOGE_UK_NOW we have no expectations of hosepipe restrictions this summer. Our teams will continue to work around the clock to maintain supplies and move water through the network to areas with the highest demand. - Yorkshire Water Social Team

@dollybb37 Hello Justine, we are on with fixing this leak as quickly as possible, we do not expect a hosepipe ban yet as our reservoirs are much higher than this time last year - Yorkshire Water Social Team
@LangsettWandH Hi there. I am really sorry to hear this. Can you send your address details in a Direct Message to us. I will look into the situation - Yorkshire Water Social Team
Hi there. Fixing certain leaks can take time, especially if they're located on or near busy roads. In those cases, we need approval from the local highways authority to close the road or set up a diversion to ensure everyone's safety. Another important consideration is whether we need to temporarily shut off the water supply to nearby residents. These jobs require careful planning so that people receive plenty of notice and can prepare accordingly.
We recognise that our pollution performance has not been good enough, and we have been open about the need to improve. Over the past year, we have invested nearly ยฃ1 billion in our network and operations, recruited hundreds of additional frontline colleagues, established dedicated pollution investigation teams, and significantly expanded monitoring across our wastewater network - Yorkshire Water Social Team
@sleepeatshop Hi, No Yorkshire water would not intentionally drop the pressure in summer to save water, pressure loss in summer is usually due the demand being higher than usual. Yorkshire Water need to adhere to the OFWAT pressure standard. - Yorkshire Water Social Team
