Having lived there for over 10 years, we are aware that the Guardia Civil in Spain have a rather simple way of dealing with miscreants!

Spain’s Guardia Civil is facing criticism from the Spanish press and NGOs after one of their boats tried to intercept a boat with smugglers and migrants trying to illegally enter Spain from Morocco, but accidentally ran it over.

I live in Normandy and people understand this.
We recently had the 80th anniversary commemorations for the liberation of our little village from the Germans. Some of our fellow villagers lived through it and told of the horrors as people were killed and their homes destroyed by the outgoing army.
They expressed deep gratitude for the role of the British, Americans and Canadian allies who saved them for further German occupation and servitude. Some of the liberators gave their lives to win that freedom.
But let's all worry about standing at passport control for a little bit longer than we'd like to.

@johnnyianson @RadioAndrewE Nice words, Johnny. I never met Andrew, but I'm pleased that he is, in reality, the same as he comes over on the radio. I'm not sure what the management at BBC local radio are playing about at with all this reshuffle, but I wish @RadioAndrewE all the best.
