Choices for the homeless shouldn’t be a crazy concept. Menus, store isles…filled with choices. Loss of a structure (housing) shouldn’t mean the loss of choices. ❤️🙏🏾✊🏿
I thought student debt relief was bad policy and bad politics. I still think it bad policy - but looking at the youth vote surge, hard to deny its political impact. And if it helped save the country from Trumpism, the positives more than pay for the negatives.
It's also interesting how research documenting a firm correlation between rising standard of living and declining birthrate seems to have missed AOC here.
The actual crisis is how entire generations are sunk w/inhumane levels of student debt, low incomes, high rent, no guarantee of healthcare & little action on climate change which creates a situation where feeling stable enough to have a kid can feel more like a luxury than a norm
Oh, I just love this glimpse into the world of those mythical creatures of reason who consult their financial picture and longterm prognosis and, if reason dictates, have sex without protection.

My initial, emotional reaction to this is the same I’ve had since the 2018 midterms, which is that “vote-by-mail” is a bogus system no other country uses, and which should never have been allowed (Republicans share the blame for passing it in many states). Very difficult to undo.
🌹 Twitter stages of grief:
•Biden’s gonna lose
•Bernie woulda won
•Somebody check on the KHive
•Biden barely won
•Dems really lost
•We were the reason he won
•We demand cabinet positions
@mikekelly85 @dobrovecer11 @cgaiter @mattyglesias You haven’t offered anything beyond pearl-clutching incredulity here. Am I unreasonable in expecting something of substance from you? Am I being condescending again?
@mikekelly85 @dobrovecer11 @cgaiter @mattyglesias Do you think that Marxism as a theory is somehow made invalid because it’s not embraced by all the working class? That’s not how theory and academics is validated or invalidated. That’s the point I’m making. If that’s condescending to you, well, whatever.
