SAPS INTENSIFIES INVESTIGATIONS AS FOUR WOMENS BODIES DISCOVERED IN TWO MONTHS IN THE KEMPTON PARK AREA

Kempton Park, 12 September 2026; The South African Police Service (SAPS) is warning women in and around Kempton Park, particularly the Rhodesfield area, to exercise extreme caution following the discovery of the bodies of four women in the same area over a period of approximately two months.

The latest body was discovered on Saturday evening.

Preliminary information gathered by detectives indicates concerning similarities in the circumstances surrounding the deaths. The bodies of the women were found half naked and with visible bruising, and the discovery sites are located within the same vicinity.

While investigations are still underway and SAPS has not, at this stage, confirmed that the deaths are linked to a serial killer, the similarities are sufficiently concerning for the police to issue a public warning and intensify investigations.

Women in and around Kempton Park are urged not to walk or run alone, particularly in isolated areas. They should avoid secluded spaces, remain vigilant and, where possible, travel or exercise in groups.

The safety of women remains a priority for SAPS, and the police will not wait for further incidents before taking decisive action.

The Acting National Commissioner of the SAPS, Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane, has directed the Gauteng Provincial Commissioner to immediately establish a dedicated multidisciplinary task team to investigate these cases and determine whether there are links between the incidents.

The task team will comprise detectives from specialised units, including the Murder and Robbery Unit and the Investigative Psychology Unit, as well as other relevant disciplines and resources required to urgently advance the investigation.

The task team will be led by the Gauteng Deputy Provincial Commissioner, Major General Mbuso Khumalo, who has been tasked with ensuring that all investigative avenues are pursued and that no stone is left unturned in establishing who is responsible for these deaths.

SAPS is appealing to anyone who may have information that could assist the investigation, particularly residents, motorists, security personnel and members of the community who may have observed suspicious activity in the Rhodesfield and surrounding areas, to come forward.

SAPS is taking these incidents extremely seriously. We urge women to remain vigilant, while assuring the community that specialised police resources have been mobilised to establish the circumstances surrounding these deaths and bring those responsible to justice.

POLICE INTENSIFY SEARCH FOR MISSING RUNNER ELIZABETH MOKOLO MOSELAKGOMO, ALSO KNOWN AS ‘TSONTSO’

The South African Police Service (SAPS) has intensified the search for 38-year-old Elizabeth Mokolo Moselakgomo, also known as “Tsontso”, who has been reported missing after she went for an afternoon run on Wednesday, 10 September 2026.

Moselakgomo reportedly left her home in Kempton Park during the afternoon to go for a run and has not returned. She left behind her eight-year-old daughter.

When she failed to return home later on that evening, her daughter contacted family members, who subsequently reported her disappearance to the police.

Since the disappearance was reported, police have been conducting searches and following up on all available leads in an effort to locate Moselakgomo.

Police have also made enquiries at hospitals and mortuaries, but these efforts have so far yielded no positive results.

The circumstances surrounding her disappearance are currently being investigated, and police are pursuing every possible lead to establish her whereabouts and ensure her safe return to her family.

SAPS is making an urgent appeal to members of the public, the media and the social media community to assist in locating Moselakgomo, who may also be known to people as Tsontso.

Anyone who may have seen her, knows her whereabouts, or has any information that could assist the investigation is urged to immediately contact Warrant Officer Elvis Manyike on 082 465 7249.

Members of the public are urged to share this appeal widely across social media platforms and community networks.

Even seemingly insignificant information could prove crucial in locating her.

SAPS appeals to everyone who may have information to come forward. Our priority is to locate Elizabeth “Tsontso” Moselakgomo and reunite her safely with her family.

Ambulances in SA are whack & I’ve experienced it firsthand. A woman was involved in a hit & run, I parked & stayed with her, trying to get help. 112 took TWO hours to reach us, they were beating info out of an incoherent person & ME instead of helping her, eventually 1/2…

"I'm in Vanderbijlpark, picking someone up at the bus stop. As I am waiting, an old lady gets off a bus from EC with her two daughters; they offload their bags.

The gogo sits down as they wait for the son to pick them up. Just a few mins in, she collapses. The daughters start screaming and calling for help.

Ndiyafowna 112 and get transferred to Vanderbijlpark ambulances. It took them around 10 mins to answer their calls. The lady on the other end refused to send an ambulance because I don't know the age of the woman and what she's sick with. She chose to hang up.

Ended up calling ER24, but unfortunately she passed on. The government ambulances only arrive 1 hour later"
