@lumos_yr You’ve missed their entire backstory if you think this is true. Junior Mint, the unicorn, the bikes, the muffin, learning the shag, and on and on. He “liked her better in glasses” … because he was already in love with her then! First line of the show gives that away.

@bellyconrad33 Yeah it was clear to me here Belly could tell Conrad was super close to kissing her and she was like “I’m not ready!” And she ducked and put her head against his chest instead and kept talking. She was still scared and working through things in her head.

@isabelsfisher In the book it seemed to me like either Adam cheated on Susannah with the real estate woman or at least Conrad thought he did. Added an interesting layer here. But the show had Aunt Julia so the scene was already layered with something different so I guess I get leaving that out.

@isabelsfisher I think she puts on a performance for Jere sometimes, putting herself second. And her internal dialogue about Conrad “He made me feel it all. No one else had this kind of effect on me … no one” and other lines show her actual feelings rather than just outward appearances.

@bellyconrad33 @raretrusts Hmmm that’s interesting to think he never stopped believing that she loved him … kind of makes when he took back that he wanted her in the hotel make sense. He was getting out of the way so she could pursue happiness with someone else because she wanted to. Self sacrificing.
