Brother, internal as in a worker that already works for the company and is applying to move up. They waste outside candidates time by going to a pointless rounds of interviews that seem more performative than actually acquiring someone. Just imagine you have gone through 3 rounds of interviews for 1 job. 2 weeks of your time scheduling out days because you think your getting said job. Just to be told you didn’t get the job because someone who’s already working there got the job. Whilst it is good to move people up in the company, don’t waste someone else time when they are indeed looking for a job especially in this economy. The person that got the job already had a job. Maybe if they prioritized moving internal candidates first before even releasing the opportunity to others we wouldn’t be have such discourse.
