I have an idea how to compete with AirBNB
Hear me out…
We buy a large building, split it into like 400 rooms… each room has its own bathroom, maybe a fridge.
No kitchen because who cooks on vacation anyway?
Rent each room by the night. Someone comes in the morning and cleans it for you, makes the bed and it’s INCLUDED in the price
No hidden cleaning fees, booking fees, no bad ratings from mom and pop operators
We’ll call it HAAS (housing as a service)
Who’s in?
We should have a public works project that pays people $30/hr to clean trash along roadsides, and plant trees all around the US, but as it would only benefit future generations and nobody would get rich from it we never will. Our government exists solely to protect wealthy.
parking at hospitals should be free and I will die on this hill
the audacity to ask people who are struggling emotionally/physically/mentally to PAY to be in a place where they don’t even want to be in the first place 😠😤
Being a gainfully employed, empathetic, pro-education advocate wasn't enough to protect this guy from being attacked by the fascist right. Understand that they are simply the enemies of humanity and anything good in the world.
They can't be appeased.
Tabitha Smith was arrested for getting into an argument following a disturbance call. For raising her voice and pissing off a rookie deputy, she was arrested, handcuffed, and put in the back of a squad car.
The deputy was texting his wife while driving to brag about arresting her when he drove into a river and killed Tabitha.
She was 35, married, with two children. No crazy criminal record. Just a mom who got in an argument and died.
If the cop had survived, he **should** have been charged with manslaughter. But he wouldn't have been. And now there's a million stories about HIM when he killed HER.

No lie, when white people see black folks in places that require money they be lookin confused and angry as if they wanna say “how’d you afford this trip” ive seen it with my own 2
sometimes i pause and think about how the background hum of my entire life, like the rest of my generation, has been nonstop news images of grey rubble and grieving strangers screaming in languages i don't know while all the reasonable people explain "that's just how it is there"
It is sort of genius though 😬 the hypocrisy laid bare in how we romanticise historical protesters & revolutions that have got us to where we are today - even the very violent ones - but hate anything that inconveniences us now
