If you judge governments by what they deliver rather than what they promise, then no President has transformed the teaching profession in Kenya more than Dr. William Ruto.

The numbers speak for themselves.

President Mwai Kibaki served for ten years and recruited approximately 20,000 teachers. President Uhuru Kenyatta served for ten years and recruited about 50,000.

President William Ruto has recruited over 100,000 teachers in just three years, with another 16,000 positions already scheduled.

That means that, in just three years, President Ruto has recruited five times as many teachers as President Kibaki did in an entire decade, and twice as many as President Uhuru Kenyatta recruited over his ten years in office.

This unprecedented recruitment has been accompanied by promotions, salary reviews, the conversion of thousands of intern teachers to permanent and pensionable terms, and a teacher deployment exercise that has reached every corner of the country.

These are the stubborn facts that make us proud of the Broad Based Government.

If for nothing else, then for the teachers who moulded us into the men and women we are today: Rais William Ruto, TUTAM!
