@scott_linacre@BirdGuides@Barnsleybsg Hi Scott. I visited the flash briefly for the first time on Sunday. Enjoyed views of the first 3 stilt chicks. Was the Caspian Gull unwell? I saw this bird and thought it could be Caspian - if it was then I am glad it survived another day. Fingers crossed it hasn't got flu ...
@grahamknight59 @rickybirdman @birdmanuk68@SwanwatchUk I am off on a quest to see a Siberian Tit this weekend! Happy to check lical sites next weekend if that helps
@birdmanuk68@CVBirding That's very impressive. We have had one in the garden in Ricky this spring which has trotted out Grey Heron, Carrion Crow (2 calls including alarm) and a pretty astonishing rendition of fighting cats.
Nice surprise en route to Stocker's today. Marsh Harrier flew north overhead. Also a Goldcrest which sat still for a while and a blurry Brambling. #hertsbirds
@Warkworthbirder It was my favourite when I was little. I wonder if anyone can shed any light on a mysterious reference in my edition next the section on 'accidentals'. It said Siberian Tit was the most recent addition to the British list. I can find no trace of this record anywhere else.
Just back from another trip to the home country. Very enjoyable visit to Big Waters yesterday where the American Wigeon eventually showed briefly. My camera decided to focus on reeds instead. #birdguides#ntbirds
I thought my gull identification woes were over when I got Gulls of Europe for Christmas. These two were with juv Herring Gulls at Stocker's Lake today and still had me scratching my head. Caspian and Yellow-legged?? Any views / advice welcome. #hertsbirds#londonbirds.
@birdmanuk68 Magnificent pic. More points dropped and time running out for our lot. Our latest Galactico didn't quite deliver. A decent start to a big week for the Orns.
@ajac0712@rolyjcraig@NTBirdClub I was a couple of years later but I remember the Corn Buntings. Some properly good birding. Also had a Firecrest in a lone hawthorn in 75 and a Honey-buzzard over in 81.
Siberian Chiffchaff calling and showing briefly on N side of Stocker's Lake by the biggest fishing platform at 7:30 this morning. @Hertsbirds@LondonBirdClub
@birdmanuk68@Hertsbirds@CVBirding Has anyone tried to count the roosting Parakeets at Stocker's this winter? There were hundreds (at least) early today. Also about 30 Siskins, Water Rail.
After nearly 2,500 hours in the field, finally a decent photo of a Cetti's Warbler at Stocker's Lake. Squealing Water Rail too. @Hertsbirds@LondonBirdClub
