Students were given a open task on solving equations with variable on both sides as a homework. Next day, students were sharing their answers with others on one google doc as a warm up and had a discussion about it. #openmiddle #studentengagement

I've been using this as an opening routine in Math 7 and Math 8. Ss write their answer in their notebook, then talk to a partner, then we discuss as a class. So much rich mathematical discourse! #teach180 #iteachmath
