Your Kid's Coach

I'm your kid's coach. This is what we all are really thinking...

[Your Kid's Coach @YourKidsCoach]

Just volunteered to be coach. What the hell was I thinking? #ineedateam #ineedadrink #youthsports #youthcoach

[Your Kid's Coach @YourKidsCoach]

Summer might be a good time for some of ya’ll parents to take a referee course. Just saying. #shutyourmouth #itwasntoffsides

@BrookeBCNN @vanhoutenphoto @washingtonpost I need a direct link to this video. Someone I know is saying the pic of the little girl was taken 7 years ago and the original photographer is dead. I can’t find it on google or cnn and I need it to share outside of Twitter. Help.

It's that time of year - parents will yell. Kids will cry. #soccerseason #shutupandcheer #youthcoachproblems

[Your Kid's Coach @YourKidsCoach]

Irony - when club staff responds to criticism about poor communication w parents by refusing to communicate. #seriously #youthcoach

[Your Kid's Coach @YourKidsCoach]

When your kid doesn't get an offer - All things equal lots of coaches will overlook the kid w problem parents. Sit down & cheer. #youthcoach

[Your Kid's Coach @YourKidsCoach]

Don't hold on to kids that need higher level of play. I wish our best player well w another club that can better challenge them. #youthcoach

[Your Kid's Coach @YourKidsCoach]

Seriously. @teamsnap has changed my life. At tourney & can actually reach everyone quickly w change of plan. Kids & parents all chatting.

[Your Kid's Coach @YourKidsCoach]

@merkurial5 @merkurial5 @YourKidsCoach yes. It must look like that. 😂

[Your Kid's Coach @YourKidsCoach]

Replace good coach w ego-driven unskilled coach & surprised kids leave for other club? How is this shocking? #youthcoach @PositiveCoachUS

[Your Kid's Coach @YourKidsCoach]

Before you complain...
Volunteer. Coach. Mow/line fields. Serve as team mgr. Join club board. Participate in fundraising & committees.

[Your Kid's Coach @YourKidsCoach]

The end game for most kids isn't college scholarship. Coach for love of the game. Anything else is bonus. #youthcoach

[Your Kid's Coach @YourKidsCoach]

If the kids aren't laughing and smiling and out of breath from exertion for a good portion of practice you are doing it wrong. #youthcoach

[Your Kid's Coach @YourKidsCoach]

It's sad. And it happens too often. https://t.co/7k7NqKulQs

[Busy Mom @Busymom]

@YourKidsCoach Sometimes you try very hard, and as a parent, the club forces your hand. Never wanted to leave, was a shitty situation.

[Your Kid's Coach @YourKidsCoach]

I'm gonna miss players whose parents make them leave for "greener grass". It won't be greener. And you'll still be parent = never happy.

[Your Kid's Coach @YourKidsCoach]

Seriously. This is a huge problem. #poaching https://t.co/Md4SPnE1Gc

Treat your kid just like everyone else. No better. No worse. #parentcoach https://t.co/NS7m18id8u

[Go Play Better @GoPlayBetter]

How do you manage being the coach and the parent?

[Your Kid's Coach @YourKidsCoach]

@GoPlayBetter 1. Pay bills. 2. Get kid to practice & games. 3. Shut up & cheer "yay team". #toomanysidelinecoaches #letthemplay https://t.co/RRAEcWCCSe

[Go Play Better @GoPlayBetter]

What do you believe is the proper role of parents in any athletic program?

[Your Kid's Coach @YourKidsCoach]

Somewhere in all of the youth soccer clubs and adult egos we've forgotten about the kids. #bittertruth #youthcoach #toomuchego

[Your Kid's Coach @YourKidsCoach]

Parents leaving club because "no one coordinated snacks & it ruined my child's soccer experience". Seriously? It's not baking school.

[Your Kid's Coach @YourKidsCoach]

That parent is always an asshole. Always. https://t.co/MvA2Rp8lwd

[Coaching Gripes @coachinggripes]

You were warned about "that" parent. And thought you could "handle the situation". Turns out...the parent really is an asshole. #theywin
