أنا أمٌ من بغداد، أحمل على كتفي همًّا أثقل من الجبال، وهمّي هو طفلي عبدالرحمن البالغ من العمر عشرة أعوام، والمصاب بمرض ضمور العضلات (دوشين)؛ ذلك المرض الذي يسرق قوته شيئًا فشيئًا أمام عيني، ولا أملك حيلة ولا قدرة على إنقاذه.

كل يوم أرى طفلي يضعف، أحلامه الصغيرة تنطفئ قبل أن تشرق، وأنا كأمٌ عاجزة لا أملك سوى الدعاء. أنا معلمة بسيطة، دخلي لا يكفي لتأمين العلاج، بينما أعلم أن في دولتكم المباركة تتوفر مراكز طبية متقدمة وعلاج يمكن أن يمنح عبدالرحمن فرصة لحياة أفضل.

أتوسل إليكم، وأطرق أبواب قلوبكم الرحيمة التي اعتادت أن تكون سندًا لكل محتاج، أن تحتضنوا صرخة ابني، وأن تساعدوني في إنقاذه بعرضه على المستشفيات المختصة في الدوحة والتكفل بعلاجه.

أعلم أنكم أهل خير وعطاء، وأن أيديكم البيضاء لا ترد محتاجًا، وأسأل الله أن يجزيكم عن إنسانيتكم خير الجزاء، وأن يحفظ أبناءكم وأحبابكم من كل سوء.
