Brentford can cause serious problems, but games like this are where Arsenal’s defence turns up and saves the day. Brentford are not putting three past Arsenal, regardless of who is playing at home or away.

When you have a proper defence, it can sustain you in a title race.

Having a great attack with a bad defence is not reliable because your attack can't be perfect every game. There will be days when your forwards aren't at their best. There will be days when your attack gets completely nullified.

And when you don't have a reliable defence that can absorb pressure and protect you, that's when you start losing games and dropping points.

This is one of the reasons I rate Arsenal so highly. They don't need to put in a world-class performance every single game to win.

Sometimes their defence and goalkeeper simply save the day.

Arsenal deserve far more credit than they're getting.

But I guess we'll see.
