Although the DG of @SomalilandMoHD mentioned the burden of Covid19 on #Somaliland's healthcare systems such as inadequate oxygen generators, #Covid19 medications, and protective equipment, they requested $3million for 300k of Covid19 vaccination!

1/6 The 2nd wave of Covid19 was been hugely felt in Somaliland for the last 45days. From 28Feb-28March,the number of deaths outnumbered the Covid19 death toll of previous 12 months by 24. In one month period, the total registered deaths were 83 which was 6% of the confirmed cases

5/6 Although, the @SLNECHQ was raising awareness about the Covid19 risks, people were not practicing required precautions such physical distancing and wearing masks which are very powerfull weopons against Covid19.

Today, the first shots of #AstraZeneca vaccine is been given to the president of #Somaliland @musebiihi with other members from his cabinet and political parties. Next shots will be given to frontline health workers nd armies as mentioned by the president.

We are in a verge of #Covid19 disaster in #Somaliland. The @SomalilandMoHD needs to wake up and prepare make-up shift hospitals for the #Covid19 patients. This is the real situation at ATU Daryeel Hosptial, Hargeisa, which was assigned for Covid19 patients.
