Working on induced/triggered seismicity and planning to come to beautiful Vienna for the #EGU24 meeting in April? Consider submitting your abstract by January 10th to our session with @Yu69345690@RebeccaSeismo@ap_rinaldi and Victor Vilarrasa. https://t.co/jSjo53RlOr
If you work on induced seismicity, are excited to participate in conferences with 3D people again, and feel like it's time for a trip to Vienna, please submit an abstract 👇
Now there have been 3 felt earthquakes in northern #Alberta, in just over an hour:
16:45 MT M5.2
16:56 MT M4.6

We carefully investigated an induced earthquake sequence that occurred after 25 year of injections in a historically seismically quiet area in Alberta, Canada. The results show that earthquake source features can be well interpreted with Riedel shear structures.
📢 Paper Alert: Our recent case study on an injection induced earthquake sequence in central west Alberta, suggesting that Long-term fluid injection can notably expedite the reactivation and development of local fault system. Full text: https://t.co/PViDhiccia
📢A new comprehensive study on physical factors controlling the diverse seismogenic behavior of fluid injections in Western Canada. Also, an up-to-date database of injection induced earthquakes and well injection information in northeast BC is available! https://t.co/S1h7ivVTC8
Paper Alert 📢: our new study using AI technique to delineate the natural and operational controlling factors of hydraulic fracturing‐induced seismicity in the northeastern British Columbia, Canada https://t.co/w8kPMGbK4d
Scientists have identified a new type of earthquake that could change fracking in the future. Check out @temblor’s latest, by @LenaJLBeck. Comments by @Yu69345690 and David Eaton. https://t.co/HSZhZJ4p7R
📢 Short course Alert : The annual @UNAVCO GMTSAR InSAR Processing short course is now open for registration! The course dates are July 11-13 and small group hands-on meetings with instructors in June. https://t.co/0TMFJpYpoF
Wrapping my head around what is happening in Ukraine is proving difficult so I turned to seismic data for a wake up call. Ground motion data from GSN station IU.KIEV show early morning events. This hits home. I cannot imagine what people are going through over there right now.
What does 40 years of #earthquakes look like in the Contiguous United States? Check out this incredible video showing #earthquake events between 1980 to 2020. Watch as #Okalahoma lights up after 2009! Full video @NOAA ➡️ https://t.co/9s2ZpgJVYJ
Congratulations to @Yu69345690 on this really cool piece of work supporting the role of aseismic and/or slow(er) slip in fault loading in injection environments: https://t.co/OcCudpWYpW You put a lot of hard work into it, well done!👏
Around 20 percent of Pacific lingcod have fluorescent green or blue meat, and scientists aren’t sure why this happens. And then there are some surprising things going on in their mouths. https://t.co/0D9nInA8V6
