Siya took 1 crore from her husband and gave it to her boyfriend.
If this was a girl who was forced into a marriage, and wanted out, would she ever take more favours from the family?
She said yes, coz she wanted money, which her father would never have given without asking for reasons. These are just facts that are out.
Don’t make it her some martyr. Also don’t let beyond their expiry date writers like Chetan Bhagat & Shobha De recharge their relevance batteries.
If she could
- cuddle boyfriend in public stadium
- party in Singapore at 16
-take 1 cr to dupe fiancee and give that money to boyfriend
- conspire to murder with 3 attempts
- run a bakery

Feminism doesnt require defending every woman. Feminists need to realise that Siya is a terrible example to hold up as a feminist icon. This is about a failure of basic humanity, not gender wars.
I genuinely can't understand the mindset of people who are saying, "Siya was only 20 years old, she was being forced into marriage because of caste and family pressure, so she chose to murder the guy."
Are you all serious?
Even a 4- or 5-year-old child knows the difference between right and wrong. Why is it so difficult for some people to understand this simple fact?
She allegedly murdered a person. If that's true, then she should be treated as a criminal.
Family pressure, caste issues, or loving someone else can never justify taking another person's life.
If you don't want to marry someone, say no. Walk away. End the relationship. But murdering an innocent person is never the answer.
No matter what the circumstances were, there is no justification for killing someone.
