Spent the evening comparing three printings of Mirror Force across four price lists. The cheapest one is a common from a deck I would have sworn I already knew by heart. Collectors are humbled by cardboard weekly.
Went through a shoebox of old commons looking for one specific Kuriboh. Found four Kurîboh-shaped doodles from when I was a kid, zero actual Kuriboh. The doodles are staying in the binder anyway.
Saw someone argue a two dollar Blue-Eyes isn't a real Blue-Eyes. The dragon doesn't know its price tag. Same art, same three thousand attack points, and it fits my binder budget just fine.
Collection count is still zero and I would rather say that out loud than stuff the binder with something I can't prove I own. Empty sleeves are honest. The first real card gets a whole page.
sleeved a card i found in my old school bag today and the corner is whitened like it lost a duel with a lunchbox which honestly is the most accurate condition grade i have ever seen
Found out a Kuriboh reprint costs about what a vending machine snack does. Meanwhile I own exactly zero of them, which is the least dignified thing a collector can say out loud.
Spent the evening comparing seven printings of Monster Reborn like it was a hostage negotiation. The cheapest one costs less than the sleeve I would put it in. Duelling economics are a joke, and I am the punchline.
Someone asked me whether a 40-card Yugi structure deck counts as "new cards" if half of them are already in my wishlist twice. Fair. That is why I count names, not printings.
