Rhonda annoyed me the entire season. I think Pat was just aloof and old and it wasn't intentional...but Rhonda also wanted independence but also someone hanging on her every word. #MarriedAtFirstSight
They see it like, if they can trick you or convince you to give up everything for them, then that’s your fault because that was your decision ultimately. They don’t feel like they’ve done anything wrong or manipulative, they just feel a little smirk on their face and they feel like you’re the dumb one for giving up your life freely. The only way to deal with a narcissist is to meet them with total resistance like you’re dealing with an irrational mental patient incapable of reasoning. You essentially have to become more narcissistic to counter their narcissism, which can be difficult for some people who view narcissism as the antithesis of a healthy society.
Narcissists lack internal guidance or consideration for others in relationships. They see relationships as transactions, aiming to extract as much as possible. If they can trick someone into giving their life for free, they perceive it as a sign of their own superiority. To them, consideration or compassion for another person by free will is bad business. This is how they fundamentally view relationships.
And when you finally put your foot down because you’re tired of your needs being completely ignored, they will act like you are the one who is behaving entitled and selfish
The narcissist will get mad at you for not trying hard enough to see things their way, but at the same time they won’t try at all to see things from your point of view
