Ante los recientes ataques y publicaciones de @El_Universal_Mx contra compañeras y compañeros de nuestro movimiento, quiero hacer una precisión con absoluta claridad y respeto:

Y quiero dejar algo muy claro: amo profundamente a mi papá, admiro su trayectoria y me siento profundamente orgullosa de ser su hija. Nuestra relación y mi cariño por él están por encima de cualquier diferencia política o editorial.

Precisamente porque lo respeto y lo quiero, tengo claro que su trayectoria es la suya y la mía es la mía. Yo decidí construir mi propio camino en la política y responder por mis propias convicciones y decisiones.

Ser su hija no significa que deba coincidir cada contenido publicado por un medio, ni mucho menos asumir decisiones editoriales que no me corresponden.

Mi responsabilidad es con mis palabras, mis actos y mis acciones.

El cariño y orgullo que siento por mi padre no están en discusión. Mi independencia política tampoco.

The way women are openly thirsting over this man and everyone is treating it like harmless fun is actually interesting.

Imagine the roles were reversed. Imagine a female tennis player walked out after a match, took off her top, and a bunch of men were caught on camera openly gawking, screaming and filming her body. The conversation would probably be very different. We'd be talking about objectification, male gaze, boundaries and how men need to learn some restraint.

But because it's a man being sexualized, suddenly it's “women are just appreciating the view.” 😂

And I'm not saying women aren't allowed to find a man attractive. Of course they are. Attraction is normal.

I'm talking about the double standard in how we interpret the exact same behaviour depending on who is receiving it.

Men can be uncomfortable with being sexualized too. Men can be objectified too. And the fact that some men don't complain about it doesn't magically make the behaviour respectful.

If we're going to have conversations about treating people like human beings rather than bodies, that principle should work in both directions.

Equality shouldn't disappear the moment the victim is a man.
