and the pre- post-fed distinction matters. The only way you can accurately describe the #portlandprotests as 'riots' is in response to federal agents doing police work on the streets of an American city which has ratcheted up the tensions of protest that were otherwise in decline

Even if that 'fact' were accurate, you could say two things about said 'violence':
1) Largely peaceful protesters are repeatedly dispersed with teargas
2) Protesters repeatedly instigate police response
Neither depiction comes close to resembling '50+ nights of rioting'

For @GPIngersoll to dismiss Portland's unrest as having nothing to do with #BLM is simply dishonest. The energy/chaos now that feds have rolled in is in expression of the same cause: substantial police reform&stripping police/feds of the power to simply grab people for any reason

@jbarro @LRCkcrw I feel compelled to point out that on today's show @GPIngersoll incorrectly portrayed the #PortlandProtests when he described them as 55 consecutive nights of "rioting" and "looting". This is an entirely uninformed description of Portland's protest timeline
