The United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority has written Nigeria’s Civil Aviation Authority stating Air Peace has reportedly violated some aviation safety regulations

The development came barely three months after the Nigerian carrier commenced the Lagos-London route.

Two mandatory occurrence reports on Air Peace had been reportedly sent to the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority.

The UK CAA, in turn, forwarded the complaints to the NCAA.

The CAA’s letter of complaint forwarded to NCAA was entitled; ‘United Kingdom SAFA Ramp Inspection Report with reference number: CAA-UK, -2024-0217’ and ‘NATS Management System Safety Report.’

The NCAA has also written to Air Peace to provide clarification on the issues.

The letter, with reference number: NCAA/DOLTS/APL/Vol.11/03624 was titled, “United Kingdom SAFA Ramp Inspection Report.

A former presidential spokesman, Reno Omokri has attacked former presidential candidate, Peter Obi for demonising the nation's judiciary.

Obi had attacked the judiciary, saying the body was the problem of Nigeria's democracy and not the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

"It is unfortunate that Peter Obi is demonising the Nigerian judiciary as the enemy of democracy in Nigeria. This is a man who was removed as Anambra Governor twice by his own people and restored as Governor twice by the Judiciary.

"Please fact-check me: Peter Obi shed tears of joy and saluted the Nigerian judiciary as 'the best thing to happen' to our democracy on Thursday, August 9, 2007," Omokri said in a tweet on X.

Omokri added: "And now, because the judiciary refused to change him from third place to first place and dinner of the 2023 election, Peter Obi is now badmouthing them.

"Peter, there is nothing wrong with the Nigerian judiciary. You lost an election. You came third. Not even second. Deal with it!"

The President of Dangote Petroleum Refinery, Aliko Dangote, has said that the refinery will supply its refined products such as petrol, diesel and aviation fuel not only to the Nigerian market, but also export to other African countries once the refinery reaches full operation.

Dangote told a panel at the Africa CEO Forum in Kigali, Rwanda, on Friday, that the 650,000 barrels per day (bpd) refinery has the capacity not only to meet the local demands but also to export refined products to other African countries.

Africa’s richest man said that the refinery will have sufficient supplies of gasoline, diesel, and aviation fuel to meet the needs of the African continent and also to export to Brazil.

"We started producing jet fuel, we are producing diesel, by next month, we’ll be producing gasoline. What that will do, it will be able to take most African crudes.

“Our capacity is too big for Nigeria. It will be able to supply West Africa, Central Africa and also Southern Africa,” Dangote told the panel.
