Defining an insider is a slippery slope. For example of course the founder of a project whose TGE timing is a market is an insider. But what about her niece? What about her neighbor? What about her gym buddy? No definition can be foolproof as knowledge is a spectrum and there will always be a disgruntled class of people for every line you draw in the spectrum for that definition.

Defining who an insider is and enforcing a ban on insider trading, isn't the right way to solve this problem. Instead the right way is to architect a transparency framework and enforce it tightly for every market created. “Founder, team, investors, collaborators might know the answer and might place bets.” Then, those that have no clue and just want to wager can do so while being informed. And those that keep an eye out for code freezes and other pre TGE patterns might want to bet too. But this transparency serves those who refrain from betting when they know there can be accounts that know the outcome and eat up those that don’t.
