Politicians and their families should NOT be allowed to trade like this…
They should ONLY be allowed to buy a low cost index fund like $SPY or $SPYM and dollar cost average…
When Pelosi trades like this with $BE, or her earlier trades with $NVDA, or like Trump’s trades on $DELL it is just too obvious to the public that this SHOULD be illegal, yet none of us can do anything about it.
There are too many awkward questions, and too many strange coincidences that come from congressional trading in the stock market, and the public is sick and tired of seeing this over and over.
Watching them build a fortune 10x or even 100x their salaries from TRADING is a huge slap in the face to the average middle class American.
End congressional trading ASAP.
Wait until you see the timing on this one…
July 24. Paul Pelosi, Nancy Pelosi’s husband, buys Bloom Energy.
10,000 shares and 100 call options, $100 strike, expiring June 2027. Four days later he adds another 5,000 shares and 100 more of the same calls.
Between $3 and $12 million. First time they’ve ever owned it.
Yesterday S&P announced Bloom Energy joins the S&P 500 on September 21. The stock had already run 7.3% during the session on speculation, then added another 5% after hours once it was confirmed.
Now look at the options. A $100 strike on a stock at $252 is deep in the money, so it isn’t a bet on the company doing well. It’s leverage on something happening before June 2027.
200 contracts is 20,000 shares.
The shares alone cost roughly $2.7 million and are worth about $3.8 million now. Up $1.1 million.
The options are worth more than that on paper, though what he paid isn’t disclosed so nobody can calculate the actual profit.
And that’s before the 21st, when every S&P 500 tracker has to buy it.
The obvious pushback is that inclusion is decided by a private committee at S&P Dow Jones Indices. No government involvement, nothing Congress votes on.
True.
Except Bloom spent $60,000 lobbying Congress in Q2 on the tax treatment of fuel cells.
So they’re in Washington talking about their own tax rules, then a congressional household puts up to $12 million into them with dated calls, then they get added to the index.
Coincidence, obviously.
Right??
BREAKING: Iran's IRGC says they have attacked a US aircraft carrier and destroyer with ballistic missiles.
This comes just hours after the US Military targeted 3 Iranian crude oil tankers.
The US has not yet confirmed the supposed attack by Iran.
@CGInvesting10 Just because its cheap doesn’t mean its undervalued, I also wouldn’t touch $NKE with a 12 ft pole.. I think Nike is going MUCH further down… 🥀
@Kalshi Obviously, yet they want to tax his unrealized gains which would affect a publicly traded company, and therefore the public investors… its unreasonable

@DudeWhoInvests $250,000 salary is middle class in many states now due to mortgage rates and home prices… and groceries, healthcare costs, and gas prices are making it MUCH worse for the average American…
