Logging back on to post a 🧵:
Today, the Green Bay @packers informed my grandma and grandpa, 83 and 85 years old, respectively, that their season tickets would not be allowed to be renewed. The stated reason was due to selling tickets to games for multiple years.
I have had the immense privilege of seeing some incredible moments with friends and family. But to lose the ability to pass those moments down to future generations of my family because my grandparents can’t safely attend games is disheartening.
It is a sad, unfortunate, and sobering situation. I would be grateful for the decision to be reversed, but don’t expect anything to change.
This ordeal is casting a dark shadow on what was once a bastion of civic pride and joy to a cutthroat and remorseless business.
Oregon joins Penn State (circa 2020) as the two places I’ve been to with a top-10 team in the country & curtains in the upper deck.
Rather sparse crowd in Eugene. Rose Bowl being yesterday doesn’t help.
