@faeriebites66 Since it was playing on horror conventions and expectations so much, the last scene just goes on and on with that woman who picks her up in the truck. I kept expecting the typical twist of She's In On It or that Johnny would pop up. That anticipation dug into my brain
@gothgfdotrip I do not understand this framing. INLAND EMPIRE was his last movie. How could his movies get better than his last one what
Not being antagonistic. Just confused. Doesn't compute.

@ChloeNumberIII They do. He hit a great stride in the '90s with Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, Lost Highway, Wild At Heart, and The Straight Story. The 2000s he just went into overdrive with Mulholland Drive and INLAND EMPIRE. In 2017 his pivot back to TV for The Return is fucking incredible.

@MTGraveStudio None. If it's a 10/10 it's because it has, among many other things, rewatchability. I can't give a movie a 10/10 if I don't have any drive to watch it again. That would make zero sense.
If I don't ever want to watch it again there's probably something wrong with it.

@Jamellbell@komradekhris I agree wholeheartedly which is why I think what Chris is saying is so important (and why I got so defensive about it). I am sorry.
@Jamellbell@komradekhris I mean...I can't see what you do and don't like, so I had no idea that you liked this post. Thus I thought you were challenging it on the whole. My bad.
